Who this is for: independent hoteliers and boutique property owners who want a direct-booking website without a developer or a long agency project. What you'll need: 30 to 60 minutes to write your description and gather photos. Difficulty: no technical background required.
What "describe your property" actually means
You write about your hotel the way you'd explain it to a friend. AskWhisper takes that description and builds your website from it. Not a template you fill in, field by field. A working, branded site generated from what you told it.
Here's what makes this different from a regular website builder: your website isn't working off its own separate set of facts. It reads from the same source as your inbox, your offers, and your guest app. Change your check-in time once and it updates on the site, in your automated pre-arrival email, and in the chat answers your guests get. That's the whole point of the system.
The workflow: you describe your property, the first version comes back, you edit anything that needs adjusting, then you publish.
Step 1: gather your inputs before you start
Before you open the dashboard, have these ready.
Your property description. Write it in plain language, the way you'd describe the place to someone deciding whether it's worth booking direct. Aim for two versions.
Short (2β3 sentences): "A 22-room boutique hotel on the Ghent canal, five minutes from the old town. Rooms face the water. Breakfast is made to order and served until 11."
Longer (1β2 paragraphs): what makes your rooms distinctive, what the neighbourhood is like, your house style, key amenities, and anything guests always ask about.
Photos. The more specific, the better:
- Hotel exterior (day and, if possible, evening)
- Lobby and common areas
- Each room type (bed, bathroom, any standout feature)
- Key amenities: restaurant, pool, garden, terrace
- Seasonal highlights if relevant
The better organised your photos, the better we can place them.
Your booking engine or PMS details. AskWhisper sits on top of your existing booking stack β you don't move anything across. Connecting your PMS is a matter of approving access from inside your own account. Most connections take a few minutes, there's nothing to install, and no data to migrate.
You don't need a PMS connection to go live. Your website pages, knowledge base, and guest messaging can all run before you've connected your booking system. PMS access is what powers the reservation-aware parts: direct booking handoff, shared inbox threads tied to stays, and digital check-in where your PMS supports it.
Step 2: describe your property in the dashboard
Log into AskWhisper and paste or type your description into the property input. Everything else β your pages, your chat answers, your emails β builds from what you write here.
AskWhisper uses that description to generate your website pages, the answers the chat gives when someone has a question, and the copy in your automated journey emails. It works from your facts, not generic hotel copy, so what comes back sounds like your property, not a placeholder template.
If something comes back that's off, you edit it. The first version is a starting point, not the final word.
Step 3: review the first draft
Once you've submitted your description, the first version of your site comes back. This typically covers:
- A homepage with your positioning and a call to action to your booking engine
- Room pages shaped around traveller decisions (what's in the room, what it looks like, how to book it)
- Practical information pages: location, arrival, parking, facilities, house rules
- An FAQ layer the chat can draw from
Review each section against what's actually true for your property. Common things to check before you edit:
- Room rates and any seasonal pricing
- Check-in and check-out times
- Parking availability and cost
- Breakfast times and what's included
- House rules (pets, noise, smoking)
- Any upsell offers you want to activate (early check-in, room upgrades, breakfast add-ons)
Step 4: edit in plain language
No CMS, no page-by-page editing. In the AskWhisper dashboard you describe what you want to change, and it updates. Tell it your breakfast service now starts at 7 rather than 7:30 and it's updated across the site, the chat, and your automated emails.
You're not updating three different places to stay consistent. One edit, live everywhere.
The copy AskWhisper generates aims to be direct and clear. If any section sounds too formal, or doesn't match how your property actually talks to guests, change it. Warm, confident copy converts better than corporate filler.
Step 5: publish, and everything updates together
When you're happy with the preview, publish. Here's what that means in practice:
| Channel | What it reads from |
|---|---|
| Website | Your property description and all edited page content |
| Webchat | The same facts, answered in their own language |
| Same knowledge base, same property facts | |
| Email journeys | Pre-arrival, in-stay, and post-stay copy drawn from your content |
| Guest app | Property info, offers, and practical details from the same source |
AskWhisper isn't a booking engine and doesn't take payment. When someone clicks "Book" on your site, they're handed to whichever booking engine you already use, with the room and dates they were looking at carried across. Your payment setup stays exactly as it is.
Multilingual support runs at the channel level. The same set of facts powers the site and messages across languages, so you're never maintaining separate content per language.
How long does it take to go live?
Typical timeline:
- Working draft: the same day you describe your property
- Fully live with PMS-connected journeys: most properties within a few days
- PMS connection: a few minutes once you authorise access
What slows things down: a vague or very short description, missing photos for key room types, PMS access not yet approved, or activating a large number of offers and languages at once. What speeds things up: a complete description from the start, photos already organised, and a focused launch β you can always add more later.
You describe your hotel, AskWhisper builds the website, then handles your guest messages, upsells, and emails, all from the same place. Change a price or a detail once, and it's live everywhere. That's the whole system.
