Upsells that sell themselves

Breakfast, late checkout, a table, an upgrade: offered at the moment a guest is most likely to say yes, through your own channels.

How it works

Three steps, in order
  1. Set what you sell

Breakfast, upgrades, late checkout, transfers, whatever you offer.

  2. Pick the moment

The offer goes out when it's most likely to land, not the day they arrive.

  3. It goes out

Through your own channels, so there's no commission on top.

What's inside

  • What you sell, your prices

Breakfast, upgrades, late checkout, transfers, experiences.

  • Offered to the right guests

A guest who already bought breakfast doesn't get offered breakfast.

  • Timed to the stay

Before arrival, mid-stay, the night before checkout.

  • In the chat they're already in

No new app, no new login.

  • In the pre-arrival email

Where they're already reading about their stay.

  • In the guest app

Sitting next to their booking rather than in a separate inbox.

Why timing needs the whole picture

The right moment is only knowable if you can see the whole stay. This reads the same booking, room and stay details as your inbox and your guest app, so the late checkout is offered the night before rather than on arrival day, and never to someone who already has it.

What you get out of it

  • More revenue

More earned per stay, without anyone chasing it or asking the awkward question.

  • More conversion

More of the travellers who find you book directly through your own channels.

  • More time

Less copying and switching between tools, more time for hosting.

Questions hoteliers ask

How do hotels sell more upsells without asking at the desk?

By offering at the moment a guest is most likely to say yes, in the channel they're already using. Late checkout the night before, breakfast before arrival, an upgrade while they're still deciding. The offer goes out on its own and the answer comes back in the same thread.

Do I pay commission on these?

No. Offers go out through your own channels rather than through an OTA, so what a guest spends on an upgrade or a late checkout stays with you. There's no per-transaction cut and no third party sitting between you and your own guest.

What can I sell this way?

Whatever you already offer: breakfast, room upgrades, early check-in, late checkout, transfers, experiences and anything else on your list. If your team sells it at the desk today, it can be offered ahead of time in the channel the guest is already using.

Will guests find it pushy?

Not if the timing is right and the offer applies to them. Guests only get offers relevant to their room and their stay, and anyone who has already bought something isn't offered it again. An upgrade offered while someone is still deciding reads as service.
